MVP PK secure ESL One Cologne spot

MVP PK overcame TYLOO 3-1 in the grand final of the ESL One Cologne 2019 Asia Closed qualifier (default, 19-17 Mirage, 9-16 Inferno, 16-11 Overpass) to qualify for the $250,000 event.
The Asian Closed Qualifier for ESL One Cologne saw eight teams in competition, battling out in a double-elimination BO3 format. MVP PK, a favorite for the single ESL One Cologne 2019 spot, took down Recca, TYLOO and BOOT on their way to the grand final, while TYLOO bounced back and overcame BOOT in the lower bracket to earn a rematch against the Koreans.
The final match was a BO5, but with MVP PK having a one map advantage leading into it. The series started on Mirage, where MVP PK had a solid CT side, led by Seon-Ho "xeta" Son, but TYLOO managed to equal the 9-6 scoreline on the defensive side and force overtime. In the added rounds, the Korean side managed to find the edge and secure map one, 19-17.

TYLOO's star player Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand was activated on Inferno, MVP PK's map pick, but the Chinese-Indonesian side still didn't look impressive on the first half, only managing to take the lead at the tail end of it, 9-6. After losing the T-side pistol, TYLOO hit a higher gear and quickly finished off the map, 16-9.
Overpass was up next, where MVP PK showed a strong CT side, starting off 7-2. xeta was once again the man leading the charge for his side, but TYLOO managed to sneak in a couple of rounds late in the half to salvage it, 10-5. After the switch, the Chinese side won the pistol round and powered on with a four-round winning streak, 10-9. However, that was all they managed, as MVP PK's offenses worked out perfectly from that point on, allowing them to close out the map 16-11 and take the series 3-1.
